Photography is an instance of preserving time and events, but you do it in an attractive form. Every celebration and milestone such as birthdays, weddings, and job promotions needs the photographer and his skill. Photography is an art that you must develop. Here are some tips on how to improve your photography skills.
1) Choose the lens according to your subject of photography
Every style of photography has its own needs. For instance, for landscape photography, you must use long distance lenses such as the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Telephoto Zoom lens. If you want to do portrait photography, you must choose a wide angle prime lens such as the Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM.
2) The setting of the camera matters the most
Aperture: This is the size of the hole in the front of the camera. An aperture of f/2.8 is bigger than f/22. The bigger the aperture, the more light that will enter the camera.
Shutter speed: You can see this as 1/15 or 1/50th of a second. When you capture moving objects, you must use a high shutter speed of 1/250th of a second. Only then the picture will remain clear. If you use slow shutter speed you can capture things in low light. Slow shutter speed allows blurring of objects such as movement of water.ISO setting: This is the film speed. The setting is 100 or 200 for outdoor photography and 400 or 800 for indoor photography. The higher the speed, the brighter will be the picture. But, you must note that if you allow too much light, the picture will appear grainy.
3) Adjust the white balance
The need to adjust white balance is that when you do not do so, the picture will have yellow or blue tinge. Suppose you shoot under incandescent light, the light is warm and so you must cool it by opting for a blue filter. Similarly, when the light is green or blue as when you shoot under a tube light, you must warm the scene by opting for a yellow filter. Most of the modern digital cameras have settings for sunny, fluorescent, tungsten, shady, and cloudy. You also have an auto mode and a flash mode. This helps you get the best white balance while photographing.
4) Practice with a high-end camera
The next step in How to become a Better Photographer is to practice. Practice is the key to perfection. Try to use every opportunity to practice photography. If you do not have a good camera, you must rent one from the camera rental shops and practice using these. Only when you get the feel of the camera, you will get good, sharp pictures. It does not happen overnight by accident or wishing. Put in your two hours a week of dedicated practice and you will become a good photographer.
The key to getting good pictures is dedication. If your heart is not in it, the pictures will not come out right. If you find it difficult to get good pictures of animals, you must practice more and in time, you will get perfect pictures.
